UNESCO and its partners (e.g., CHED) have designed ICT competency standards for teachers to help educational policymakers and curriculum developers identify the skills that teachers need to harness technology in the service of education. This course follows the 7 domains ICT competency standards for teachers: Understanding ICT in Education; Curriculum and Assessment; Pedagogy; Technology Tools; Organization and Administration; Teacher Professional Learning; and Teacher Disposition. Emphases are on the thorough examination of the use of information and communication technology (ICT) as a tool to research, select, process, and distribute information. Exploration of various digital, non-digital and open educational resources, interactive computer simulations, and sophisticated data-gathering and analysis tools will further enhance ICT competencies of student-teachers.
