This course
presents fundamental chemical concepts and inorganic structures. The topics to
be discussed include: atomic and molecular structure; the periodic table and
periodicity; chemical bonding; thermochemistry; kinetics and reaction rates;
chemical equilibrium, acid-base and solubility equilibria and basic
thermodynamics. This subject focuses on introduction of the key concepts and
calculations needed to understand changes and properties of matter and
energy.
