The course deals with the discussion of physical soil parameters, particle size of soils, physical states and Index properties of fine grained soils, soil classification schemes, compaction of soils, Darcy’s Law, flow parallel/perpendicular to soil layers, determination of hydraulic conductivity, total and effective stresses, stresses in soil from surface loads, consolidation settlement, and shear strength of soils. |
