The course introduces the students to the history, theories, principles, and processes related to descriptive cataloging.  This is a lecture type of class with hands-on activities for a description of materials using AACR2r MARC 21 and RDA.  This also discusses specific database design concepts relating to the structure of FRBR and RDA.

This course is an introduction to Web-based technologies that are useful to libraries and information centers. Includes tools and applications such as blogs, wikis, instant messaging, podcasts, and social networks.
